Medication Technician Training & Certification

Protect the safety of the individual and administer medication safely

Our Medication Technician training program is offered on a need-basis that is per client's request. 

The class is 20 hours in length and can be offered over three days period. The class can be taught from 9-5 on the first two days and 9-1 on the third day.

The class covers the following subject areas:

1. Medication in schools:  

• Medication and related issues.

• Observation skills.

2. Medication Administration:

• Categories and responses to medications

• Storage of medication and preparation for administration.

• Administering medications.

• Safety and emergency responses

• Documentation

3. Drug calculation (newly added section)

4. Pre written math and reading tests. Students must pass 80% and above in order to be certified as Medication Technician.

5. Chronic childhood/youth illnesses

6. Special procedures - for those with chronic or acute illnesses.

7. Documentation sample forms. 

 The class also comes with a student manual for the student to keep.
